  • I am an Indian Passport holder having an Indian NRO/ NRE account. Can I donate?
  • As you are an Indian Passport holder, you are free to donate from your NRO or NRE account.

  • Can I get a tax exemption for the donated amount under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961?
  • Since Jehovah's Witnesses of India is a religious trust, donations do not qualify for tax exemptions under section 80G.

  • Are there any tax benefits available to me if I donate?
  • No tax benefits are available as the donation is made to a religious trust.

  • What would I need to do if I want to donate in kind, or wish to donate property instead of money?
  • We will be very happy to guide you. Please write to the address on the 'Contact Us' page.

  • I am an NRI (Non Resident Indian). Can I donate?
  • If you presently hold a valid Indian Passport, then you are eligible to donate.

  • I am an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card holder. Can I donate?
  • You will be able to donate only if you have a valid Indian Passport. In time, if you apply for and obtain an Indian Passport, you will be eligible to donate.

  • I am a PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) card holder. Can I donate?
  • As PIO card holders do not hold an Indian Passport, you will not be eligible to donate.

  • I am an Indian Passport holder. My friends who are foreigners would like to route their donations through me. Is that permissible?
  • Only those who are Indian citizens and hold an Indian Passport can donate. Channelling of funds from a foreign source is strictly prohibited. All donations should be from your own source of funds.

  • I am an Indian Passport holder but my wife is a foreigner. Can we donate?
  • You can donate from your own source of funds. Your wife would be ineligible to donate as long as she holds a foreign passport or PIO card.

  • Can I make a conditional donation?
  • Conditional donations are accepted by the Jehovah's Witnesses of India trust. As such donations are not outright contributions additional paper work is needed. Hence we request you to contact us using the 'Query Form' or write to the address in the 'Contact Us' page.

  • Can I make a bequest of some funds through my Will?
  • If you are an Indian citizen, you can certainly name Jehovah's Witnesses of India as a beneficiary. However, since this website is set up for immediate transfer of funds, you should write to us and send us a copy of your Will so that we are aware of your bequest. If you change your Will, you should write to us letting us know of the change.


  • Is the site secure?

Secure transactions for this website are done using an SSL Web Server Certificate to ensure secure transmission of your information. We do not retain any Credit or Debit card details. All certificate details can be clearly seen on our website.

  • How is my information secured?
  • All sensitive data is encrypted and stored on a secure server. This ensures that there is no unauthorised access to your confidential information.

  • For how long will my Login ID be valid?
  • Your Login ID will be valid until your passport expires. However, if you surrender your passport and obtain citizenship of another country before your passport expires, please inform us. We will disable your Login ID. During the tenure that your Login ID is active, you endorse with every donation that you are an Indian Passport holder and you have not obtained citizenship of another country.

  • Can I share my Login ID with my friends?
  • Your Login ID, and associated Password, should be kept confidential. Please note that all donations made over this website are closely scrutinized. Jehovah's Witnesses of India will not be responsible for the consequences arising from any breach of confidentiality on your part.


  • Will I have legal problems if I donate over this website?
  • You will not have any legal problems when you donate over this website as long as no information is misrepresented, and as long as there is no misuse of the website.
